On dye-ing and arse-ing about. And to give all Americans a laugh.

Been a very busy week thus far, so now it's time to play. For an hour, at least.

Firstly, I really did record a video of me reading the Glastonbury poem, having stolen Grandpappy's super-duper digital camera for that very purpose; but it saved as a .mov file, and it would appear a .mov file is a file you can do nothing with whatsoever. Certainly not play it, or send it anywhere, anyway.

In compensation, I have combined a poetry reading with my very first movie. I think. When we re-booted the dust-magnet, a new programme called "Windows Moviemaker" seemed to appear from nowhere, and I've just spent an hour playing with it. Which is fairly apparent in the final result (a tad effects heavy...) but hey, it was fun.

The images are of a T-shirt dyeing project using only flowers and leaves (and OK, some rhubarb) we have undertaken on the advice of the fabulous felting queen, Jasmine, and the audio is me reading my poem, Homemaker. Which I think I do in a "Southern States of the US of A" accent, but I realise will be about as realistic as Dick van Dyke's cockney one in Mary Poppins.

Anyway, sit back, relax and don't ask what we used as mordant in the black bucket (clue: took a whole day to collect it).

Final T-shirt results below, and we were well chuffed. Thanks Jasmine!
