A few recent posts with folk songs on, courtesy of Rachel and the watercats, and I still don't get it.
My idea of folk is these two albums by the superb (in their early days) band Heart, the core of which was the wonderful Wilson Sisters, Ann and Nancy. The band comes from that heart-of-English-folk city, Seattle. I've been lucky enough to see them live three times, before they had their real power-ballad-pop-rock incarnation.
If you don't own these two albums, seek them out immediately.

And go here to see them in their glory days, singing "Crazy on You". Really do go, they are fabulous. I can't embed videos! And they still had the white stacks when I saw them, and it's got a "willow" lyric for willow. What more could entice you....

And to facilitate Rachel Fenton's vision, here's a link to the song "Dog and Butterfly"
