Wedding and Wild Life

A very nice part of rural life in this corner of Scotland is that whenever there's a wedding in the village, it is perfectly acceptable to go the ceremony, or wait outside to admire the wedding party. On the only dry day this week (and the wet ones have been very, very wet) there was a rather lovely event, with an antipodean twist as the groom was Australian.

There were some rather spectacular horses too.

I loved the bridesmaids' shawls .

And though dry, it was breezy. OK, windy.

The whole thing put a smile on my face for the rest of the day.

Meanwhile, T2 brought this home from school and I was a bit gob-smacked, to be honest with you. In real life it's A3! You'll have to re-assemble it in your head.

In other news, I spent National Poetry Day dodging tree branches and jack-knifed lorries on flooded roads, but did eventually make it to two different primary schools, where I did writing stuff with some of the pupils. Which was really, really nice.

So was this. I'm a Contemporary Scottish Poet! Here: http://www.nls.uk/collections/scottish/modern/national-poetry-day/2011
