Red-bellied Woodpecker for Worldbird Wednesday

With a whirl and a twirl and a twist ( edited with the distort sphereize filter feature of photoshop) and a turn this Red-bellied Woodpecker makes a thrust for the bird suet in Bird Alley. It is not that common to see a Red-bellied Woodpecker in our region on a daily basis, but this year there have been many sightings of this woodpecker in our province. and that makes me very happy as they are such beautiful birds to see! Every so many years an irruption of these birds occurs and the last I remember was in 2004.
Got pictures of birds you would like to share? Why not post them on Worldbird Wednesday? http://pineriverreview.blogspot.com/To find out how, please scroll down the right hand side of this page until you come to the worldbird logo, click on it and follow the directions from there
