Joe Paterno known as Joe Pa, born in 1926 and died Jan. 2012. He was a coach at Penn State, father, husband, friend to many, but mostly a inspiration. He inspired many, many people looked up to him. They thought of him as a honest guy, humble, and lived that way too.
This statue was put up years ago because Joe Paterno has been a couch for many many years, but now people are visiting it to remember Joe. A memorial.
At Joe's funeral about 12,000 people came to State College to remember him and leave something behind.
