Pigeons and Cuckoos

Our small village was cut off from the outside world today. No phone lines, no internet connection. The Post Office closed, Business Micros closed, and at 1pm we gathered like sheep in the tea-room and bleated about the inconvenience. It was, as those of us who had remained on hold whilst in a queue for two hours on our mobiles discovered, an "exchange problem". It may be fixed in 48 hours.
I also noticed that everyone in the tea-room was female.
And then I remembered the freak hail-storm we had the other day.
I am now a little concerned about what may be arriving in 9 months time.

Service still intermittent; I'll keep you pigeon-posted.
