On The Bus With Weaver: Just A Personal Trip

Weaver asked us to write about a person. Only one person on my mind at the moment. And I'm sorry it's sad and sentimental and hugely personal, and I'm sorry I'm not getting around much at the moment, but for all the shenanigans life is horribly hectic at the moment.

Catch some good stuff here at Weaver's: http://weaverofgrass.blogspot.com/

And yes, we've been here before; and yes, less than a year ago. Youngest one last year, oldest one this year. I have warned the middle two that "I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!"

Gotta go through some photo context. John is primarily the one with the pipe. Except when he's a baby, obviously.

I reckon 1951.

Got to be late 70s. Man with bottle, then Richard, then John, then Roger.

Second eldest nephew's wedding. Oh no! It's all gone Ray Winstone!

J. R. Palmer by J. R. Palmer

Eldest son,
chosen one,
protector,
tormentor.

Unbearably handsome,
unfeasibly strong,
what went wrong,
John?
Shadowed by the One you most resemble
He haunts you still.
Strong fathers are no favours.
But you, John,
are the last,
the last of your line.

I will not cry, brother.
Sympathy will not do you.
Protector,
tormentor,

still.
