Let The Sun Shine!

Been in a bit of a dark place for a couple of days; news from home, you get the picture, and it was not aided by my watching Leaving Las Vegas, the world's most nihilistic film, ever, twice. You know how it gets. I also wrote about it, but have decided to leave all that to another time, if not another place.

Sticking my nose to the printer, paper, inkpads and paint has helped, and Venti is starting to take shape. And Mr McMillan is being very patient (ooh, just this one too...).

So to celebrate, here's the sunniest day of the year thus far, in the best place in the world.
Essex is not God's County, but if it was Southend-On-Sea is where the saints would go on holiday.

Note to the unwary: Sow-fend to children of Essex. Sarf-end to the Londoners

Tide was in when we arrived. Unusual.

Straight to Adventure Island, where strange creatures dwell

On high

Lunch in the High Street; the legendary Tomassi's

You can funicular back down to the Esplanade

For more Adventure Island

And when we left, late afternoon, the tide was out. As usual. Remnants of Southend's great pier (the longest in the world) in the distance

As is Canvey Island

Southend. It's all about love.

Laters! As we say.
