45,000 homes in Scotland lost their electricity last night, and we were amongst them, as were all the nearby villages. Bye-bye dinner and every other electric-based activity. After an unseasonably warm and dry April, May in most of Scotland has been relentlessly wet and cold, cluminating in last night's extremely high winds which laid low a lot of trees, taking the power lines with them.
