Down and Out, Bits and Bobs

45,000 homes in Scotland lost their electricity last night, and we were amongst them, as were all the nearby villages. Bye-bye dinner and every other electric-based activity. Hello book, until the headtorch gave up the ghost (finished it by firelight though). You'll be glad to hear Baron Venous was defeated, the Grotesquery dismembered and Skulduggery Pleasant lives to fight another day. As much as a skelton can.

After an unseasonably warm and dry April, May in most of Scotland has been relentlessly wet and cold, cluminating in last night's extremely high winds which laid low a lot of trees, taking the power lines with them.

And poor old Dumfries chose last Saturday to hold a Street Festival, to be followed by a hog roast and live bands in Dock Park. We braved the Street Festival.

Orchestra Del Sol. They tried!

Circus skills with Circus Sally in strong winds

The rain was on by trapeze time

And it got wetter, and wetter, so we decided against the hog roast.

Finally, official photos of the Award Ceremony have been released. Here is my hair meeting Lady Marks.

Wind's back and lights are flickering...

Good grief! Now hailstorms of biblical proportion. Maybe it really is the end of days. Blogger will also not let me comment anywhere. What does it all mean?
