Good Golly Gosh #2

It was the Callum Macdonald Memorial Award Ceremony 2011 last night, and it took place at the National Library of Scotland.
The Award is for the publisher of an outstanding example of pamphlet poetry. The pamphlet or its publisher will have a connection with Scotland or Scottish culture.

The winner was Figure in Landscape by Anna Crowe, published by Mariscat Press and the runner-up was... Venti by JoAnne McKay, published by JoAnne McKay. I got my prize (a cheque) from Lady Marks herself.

Here are a few unprofessional photographs from the evening, there will undoubtedly be some professional photographs to follow.

All 43 entrants were on display for the Ceremony, the shortlisted entries got the black tablecloth.
Here's someone looking at Venti.

And here's some poetry folk gathered.

Hugh Bryden from Roncadora Press (also shortlisted) and me.

Just a great hair shot.

The winners, runner-up, judges and Lady Marks. On a staircase.

Jean Atkin, poet of the shortlisted Lost at Sea by Roncadora Press and me after consuming 6,000 calories each at the celebration dinner after.

And a top tip for British readers. The black trousers I am wearing are the Marks and Spencer buy of the season, being beautifully cut, immensely flattering and costing a skinny £19.50. Available in black, navy and brown. I have not been sponsored to say this.

Finally, thanks to Tessa Ransford and all the judges, to the National Library of Scotland and to the Michael Marks Charitable Trust for making it such a nice night for me. Yay!
