Here's Johnny...

Whilst Mr T was away, Grandpa and Big Brother Mike took care of all the boys' physical activities, which mostly involved climbing large hills, getting soaked to the skin and even managing to get mud on underwear (how?).
As usual, I engaged them in a flurry of artistic endeavours, some of which seem long ago and rather far away now. On Tuesday, however (yes, the school holidays managed to coincide with husband's hospitalisation) we went to see the kinetic sculptures of Johnny White, in an exhibition at the Gracefield Arts Centre in Dumfries entitled, 'Beastly Machines'. They moved!

Gnu Canoe, my favourite apart from the whale. The Gnus canoodle.
Even better, Johnny himself was there and running a workshop - Wobbly Wire Monsters. So we made some.

T2's Wobble Dog. He, er, wobbles.

T1's Heptabug. He moves!

And Winky Whale. He waves his tail! Rather enthusiastically. Joint effort between me and T1.

Johnny White was charm itself, and absolutely bonkers. Do catch the exhibition if you can - it's on till April.
