Well, yes, there's that, but now it's also International Poems In Shops Month! For full details, see Niamh at Various, here: http://variouscushions.blogspot.com/2010/11/ipypiasm.html
Imagine my horror when the combination of freezing interior temperatures, first day of the Advent Calendar, first day of the Advent Sack (yes, we have a dear friend who wraps up a present for us for every day of Advent) and yet another day off school combined to make me leave for Glasgow without my camera or anything prepared! As you know from last year, I live in a small village with few shop opportunities. If the Glasgow prospect was there, I should have been taking it.
So, in a less guerrilla, more marmoset, activist type of a way, I improvised wildly. Work has very nicely given me an iphone for, er, work, but I reckoned I wouldn't be adding to costs by taking photos with it. And I had paper and pens! And I can write (EW?).
So my first target was the fancy furniture shop. Easy; fancy dressed assistants didn't pay me a blind bit of notice.

Imagine sinking your sumptuous rear
On this sumptuous sofa sitting here.
Seeing springs is in the past,
Now you've got your fat cat arse.
Next up was the charity/vintage shops on Byers Road. Surprisingly difficult. Loads of customers, loads of volunteers/staff and so much activity going on I nearly didn't get the shot. Hello, credit crunch.

Stop! I'm the suit you want to buy,
I used to belong to another guy.
The smell is not so very strong,
besides, it's nice to linger on...
Hooray for IPYPIASM! I think.
