Post Heaven

Look who arrived in the post this morning! Hool! A little high-maintenance in the dietary department, but thankfully he settled in once he saw the Penguin Dictionary of Architecture and Landscape Architecture.
Hool was made by Eryl, at http://thekitchenbitchponders.blogspot.com/
and came to me via the brilliant 'Get One, Offer Five Free' handmade-things scheme promoted by Juliet Wilson at Crafty Green Poet, here http://craftygreenpoet.blogspot.com/2011/02/woodland-and-farmland.html

And it was a good week for mail prior to Hool. Kat Mortensen's book, shadowstalking, came. Highly recommended, and available here: http://hyggedigter.blogspot.com/

And Juliet's own handmade objects came too. A pot-pourri sachet, a card poem and this wonderful framed poem about Little Red Riding Hood.

My own productions are coming on, if not exactly apace. I have made nine (nine!) boiled wool flowers, and am awaiting ArtSparker's return to find out how you turn them into a necklace.

And here's my carved wood dog/bear/wolf head. Very hard to get a photograph that shows its transmutations between the three different beasts, I'm afraid.

All details of the handmade challenge are a few posts back, here: http://titusthedog.blogspot.com/2011/01/great-giveaways-batman.html Join in!

All excited as I'm going out tonight. Readings by Hugh McMillan and Graham Fulton at the Gracefield Arts Centre in Dumfries, to coincide with a month-long exhibition of images by Hugh Bryden, created in response to poetry for his award-winning Roncadora Press. Coo.
