I'm Available Here and Now

Yes, Grave with Lights is now available to purchase online (see button on the sidebar). Like Venti, it's a handmade pamphlet with some glorious art, this time kindly lent by the artist Victor Henderson.

I'll quote from the introduction, by the poet Hugh McMillan:

McKay specializes in small, beautifully constructed handmade pamphlets. I'm sure you will agree that the poetry here is in every way as striking and carefully crafted.

and from the writer and editor, Alan Gillespie:

... a sickening brilliant poet, JoAnne handcrafts all the pamphlets herself and they boast gorgeous artwork and typography.

Though that quote actually begins, My friend, JoAnne McKay...

The pamphlet comes with its own fabby material slipcase (designs may vary).

These are all handmade by the Nithsdale Design Collective, pictured below. The baby doesn't sew.

There is also a choice of covers:

All this for just £10, plus £1.50 postage and packing.

You can read Rachel Fox on Grave with Lights, Marion McCready's Vintage Sea and Ross Wilson's The Heavy Bag here: http://slowlaneshuffle.blogspot.com/2011/12/pamphlet-power.html

Fight!

Meanwhile, here's the shortest poem in the pamphlet, with Victor's image.

Romford Handfasting

I will love you
black and blue.
I will.
I will.
I do.
I do.

And guess who got an original?

A giveaway is definitely in order, so there will be a draw involving a dog for a copy of the pamphlet. If you want to be in it, leave a comment.

And if you order and want your choice of cover, could you also let me know in the comments.

That's it!
