In case you've yet to embrace the phenomenon that is International Put Your Poem In A Shop Month, it was the brainchild of Various Cushions (here: http://variouscushions.blogspot.com/ )
And here's her why:
I think December is possibly the most hassly month of the year in terms of time spent in shops, queuing in said shops, and the amount of money handed over in said shops, making it overall a kind of stressful experience, thought it would be nice to have a little pressie for shop goers, and reason to make your own visit to the shop more artistically satisfying not to mention more exciting.2011 is IPYPIASM's fourth year, it has now achieved festival status, and poems are appearing in shops across two continents. It must be emphasized that is it not, repeat not, a competition.
Well, I was wandering about today and who should I bump into? Only three poets of some renown.

Under a Christmas tree, bizarrely enough.
From the left we have
Jean Atkin (here: http://thedogdaysofdumfriesshire.blogspot.com/ )
Carolyn Yates
Vivien Jones (here: http://www.vivienjones.info/ )
Even more bizarrely, they happened to have some poems on them.
Well, it would have been churlish not to utilise them for the good of the shoppers of Dumfriesshire...
